On Oct. 21, Willowbrook will host a presentation for parents/guardians entitled “Enhancing the Family-School Connection for Student Success.”
The program will begin at 7 p.m., and the presenter will be award-winning educator and local parent Andy Isaacson.
“If you're a parent who sometimes feels overwhelmed, unappreciated or concerned about the academic well-being of your child's success, then this program will activate your energy level, focus and reinforce the combined essential commitment or partnership between the family and the school,” Isaacson said. “In addition to presenting uniquely encouraging and impactful components for success, this program will alert you to potential obstacles that can affect your child and give solutions to help you and (your child) navigate to greater achievement. As a parent, you will feel reinvigorated in your role and the partnership the school can present as a true benefit to your child's future.”
Isaacson was a teacher at Willowbrook for 34 years, where he also served as a Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Coach and a Social/Emotional Learning (SEL) Leader for District 88. A longtime Villa Park resident, he is the parent of three children. Isaacson has served as a Speaker/Presenter at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Northern Illinois University, Illinois State University and Lewis University.
