On Jan. 15, Willowbrook hosted its annual Curriculum Showcase and Meet the Coaches Night to provide incoming and current students and parents/guardians with information about the academics and athletics at the school. About 250 families were represented during the event (about 600 people).

Participants were able to tour the building, as well as meet with school counselors, representatives from each academic area, coaches, District 88 Board of Education members and Willowbrook and District 88 administrators. They also had the opportunity to learn about social-emotional supports/services available to students (see details at www.dupage88.net/Supports), as well as organizations for parents/guardians (see details at www.dupage88.net/WBgroups).

The evening also featured a showcase of Willowbrook's Padres Unidos (Parents United), which meets monthly to connect with Spanish-speaking families. Through that group, parents/guardians increase their knowledge of the school system to help their children achieve at the highest level. Topics include information on accessing college, financial aid, rigorous academic programming, social-emotional concerns and community issues.
