Willowbrook Speech Team makes school history by advancing all 14 events to Sectional contest

On Feb. 5, members of the Willowbrook Speech Team competed in the Regional contest at Fenton Community High School and finished in 2^nd place.

Below are the team’s results from that tournament. For the first time in school history, all 14 events advanced to the Sectional contest, which will take place on Feb. 12 at Downers Grove South.

Dramatic Duet Acting: Seniors Katherine Wentworth and Damian Rocha (2^nd place)

Dramatic Interpretation: Senior Katherine Wentworth (NEED PLACE)

Extemporaneous Speaking: Freshman Colton Emmert (3^rd place)

Humorous Duet Acting: Junior Amelia Tortorici and sophomore Sean O’Brochta (2^nd place)

Humorous Interpretation: Senior Elizabeth Michael (2^nd place)

Impromptu Speaking: Senior Emily Maher (3^rd place)

Informative Speaking: Junior Lia Galindo (3^rd place)

Oratorical Declamation: Freshman Margaret Brennan (3^rd place)

Original Comedy: Junior Amelia Tortorici (1^st place – Regional Champion)

Original Oratory: Senior Emma Wrzeszcz (NEED PLACE)

Poetry Reading: Freshman Aryash Sampat (4^th place)

Prose Reading: Senior Emily Maher (4^th place)

Radio Speaking: Freshman Aryash Sampat (3^rd place)
