Willowbrook DECA Team participates in Career Day, prepares for Regional competition

Willowbrook’s DECA Team is gearing up for its Regional competition on Jan. 22, 2015. DECA is a competitive club that prepares future leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management.

As part of the team’s preparation for Regionals, 13 members of the group attended the Illinois Foundation for Marketing Education (IFME) Career Day with the White Sox on Sept. 26. That event included a seminar, where three members of the White Sox marketing staff discussed ticket sales, marketing of team merchandise and overall marketing strategy. They also answered questions asked by DECA students. Students then stayed for the White Sox versus Kansas City Royals game.
