Willowbrook parents/guardians invited to join group that offers programming for Spanish-speaking families
District 88 is proud to have a diverse school community, with about 50 languages represented among its families. District 88’s core values include ensuring all students, staff and community members feel safe, valued, respected and welcome.
To help accomplish that goal, Willowbrook hosts Padres Unidos (United Parents), which meets monthly to connect with Spanish-speaking families. Through that group, parents/guardians increase their knowledge of the school system to help their children achieve at the highest level. Meeting topics include information on accessing college, financial aid, rigorous academic programming, social-emotional concerns and community issues.
- The first meeting of the 2026-27 school year will begin at 6 p.m. on Sept. 8, and the presentation will be:
- District 88 Superintendent Dr. Jean Barbanente will share highlights about the district such as updates, successes and future plans (including information about a bond referendum question the District 88 Board of Education approved to place on the Nov. 3, 2026, ballot to address facility needs at Addison Trail and Willowbrook high schools – see details at www.dupage88.net/Proposal).
