Willowbrook hosts annual Student Art Show/Spring Art Exhibition

The artistic talents of Willowbrook students were recently on display during the school’s annual Student Art Show/Spring Art Exhibition.

More than 350 pieces created by students were featured, and categories showcased included drawing, painting, mixed-media, photography, digital illustration/cartooning, sculpture/jewelry, ceramics, graphic design and fiber/costume design.

During the reception on April 22, the following students were recognized:

Outstanding Students of the year: Senior Norah Luedtke, sophomore Sofia Abraham, senior Rebeca Timothee and freshman Cody Davis

Outstanding Seniors in Art: Norah Luedtke and Josephine Parkinson 

Best in Show: Senior Norah Luedtke

Geri Greenman Art Award: Seniors Zoey Evans and Lily Zachar (will be recognized during the Senior Recognition Assembly on May 1)

Robert Lee Fritz Art Award: Seniors Rebeca Timothee and Evelyn Larkin (will be recognized during the Senior Recognition Assembly on May 1)

  • Digital Illustration/Cartooning: Junior Zari Bajic

  • Photography: Junior Olivia Bashqawi

  • Graphic Design: Senior Josephine Parkinson

  • Ceramics: Senior Evelyn Larkin

  • Sculpture/Jewelry: Senior Norah Luedtke

  • Fiber/Costume Design: Senior Norah Luedtke, junior Megan Usry and Maddie Cavillo

Also during the reception, 22 Willowbrook students were inducted into the school’s Art Honor Society. To receive that honor, students must complete a minimum of two art courses, maintain an art GPA of 3.0 or higher, participate in art events and have two non-art staff members vouch for them living the Warrior Code throughout the year. The event raised more than $800 for the York Township Food Pantry through an “Empty Bowls Fundraiser,” where guests could buy handmade ceramic bowls created by Willowbrook students and staff and receive a cup of soup for $20.
