Willowbrook hosts State send-off celebration for members of Science Olympiad Team

On April 24, Willowbrook hosted a State send-off celebration for members of the school’s Science Olympiad Team, who competed in the Illinois Individual State Tournament (IIST).

That event took place on April 25 at McHenry County College and is for students who earned a medal at their Regional Science Olympiad Tournament, but whose team did not earn a bid to the Illinois Science Olympiad State Tournament.

Those students are:

  • Anatomy & Physiology: Sophomores Daniel Ramirez and Naushair Ali

  • Astronomy: Junior Claire Brennan and sophomore Giovanni Gutierrez

  • Boomilever: Junior Jackymarn Caldez

  • Designer Genes: Juniors Claire Brennan and Shayan Siddiqi

  • Electric Vehicle: Junior Claire Brennan

  • Forensics: Junior Shayan Siddiqi and senior Katrina Smalling

  • Hovercraft: Junior Claire Brennan

  • Machines: Senior Seth Rodrigues and junior Hendrix Solis

  • Materials Science: Seniors Katrina Smalling and Seth Rodrigues
