History made: Willowbrook hosts State send-off celebration for the school’s first Girls Wrestling State qualifier

On Feb. 26, Willowbrook hosted a State send-off celebration for sophomore Angie Manlapaz (pictured, center, with coaches Mary Doro and Molly Salerno), who competed in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Girls Wrestling State Tournament (in the 115-pound division).

Manlapaz qualified after earning 4th place in the Sectional Tournament – making school history by becoming Willowbrook’s first State qualifier in Girls Wrestling!

State took place on Feb. 27 and 28 at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington.
