Willowbrook Athletics names January Anyway’s Athletes of the Month

Willowbrook Athletics is proud to share junior Lillian Macias and senior Aris Neal have been named as the Anyway’s Athletes of the Month for January.

Name: Lillian Macias

Sport: Girls Gymnastics

January successes: Macias overcame injuries and earned 2^nd place on vault at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Regional Meet, which qualified her to compete in the Sectional Meet. The Willowbrook Girls Gymnastics Team qualified five athletes to the Sectional Meet – the largest number in about 20 years.

Name: Aris Neal

Sport: Boys Wrestling

January successes: In January, Neal compiled a record of 14-2. He earned 2^nd place at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Regional Tournament, which qualified him to compete in the Sectional Tournament for the second time, where he finished in 3^rd place. He then competed in the State Tournament (in the 120-pound division). Neal ended the season with an undefeated Conference record and received All-Conference Honors for the second year in a row.
