Willowbrook Archery Team competes in first tournament

On Feb. 7, Willowbrook’s U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) Warrior Battalion Archery Team competed in the Rise of the Firebird Archery Tournament at Phoenix STEM Military Academy in Chicago.

Nine cadets represented Willowbrook and competed against 20 high school JROTC archery teams from Chicago, Romeoville and Lincolnshire. This was the first time Willowbrook’s team competed in a tournament, and the cadets earned 8^th place. The competitors were junior Joseph Biundo, senior Teresa Farquhar, senior Amelia Polacek, freshman Kain Casas, senior Kaylee Keaty, junior Gemma Galeana, junior Perla Monarrez-Arias, junior Isabella Cardenas Aguilar and sophomore Yaneiri Zuniga.
