Willowbrook alumna talks to students about her experience writing and publishing a children’s book

On Nov. 25, Willowbrook alumna Shannon Kaminski (class of 2013) visited with students in Willowbrook Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher Stephanie Ennis’s Preschool I and Preschool II classes. Kaminski and Ennis are pictured above.

Kaminski spoke to the students about a children’s book she wrote and published, called “Tap Class Place.” She also donated a copy to the Little Warrior Preschool and the Willowbrook Library Media Center.

The following is a description of Kaminski’s book: “Grab your shoes, tie up your laces, Tap Class will be one of your favorite Places! Join the class as they meet their teacher, count to 8, and learn their first tap step! Readers will feel involved and inspired every step of the way.” The book is available at Barnes & Noble (https://tinyurl.com/yc34w7cn) and at Amazon (https://tinyurl.com/ded93jar).

Dancing has been part of Kaminski’s life since she was a child. She began competing with Steppin' Out Dance Co. at the age of 6, she was on the Code Red Dance Team and the Outlet Hip Hop Team at Ball State University, she is a member of the Circle City Tap Company, and she is a Dance Instructor at Expressenz Dance Center. Kaminski graduated from Ball State University in 2017 with a degree in Public Relations.
