On Nov. 19, Willowbrook hosted an event to celebrate and honor 72 seniors.
Those students have been named as 2026-27 State Scholars by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) and/or have received academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Program. According to the ISAC, the State Scholar Program recognizes students for their outstanding academic performance, and recipients receive a Certificate of Achievement. About the top 10 percent of graduates from approved high schools are announced as State Scholars each year. Standardized test scores and performance-based academic data reported by high schools are key factors in the formula used to determine eligibility for this recognition. According to the College Board, the National Recognition Program awards academic honors to high-performing students every year and helps them stand out on college and scholarship applications. This recognition is based on student achievement on College Board assessments, including the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10 and AP® Exams.
