Willowbrook inducts Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2025

Each year, Willowbrook recognizes and celebrates the athletic and personal successes of standout student-athletes, coaches and contributors through the school’s annual Athletic Hall of Fame. This distinguished event was founded in 2010 and is a way to honor the alumni who have helped create and continue the legacy of Pride, Tradition and Excellence that is Willowbrook High School.

On Sept. 25, Willowbrook inducted members into its Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2025 during a dinner at The Carlisle in Lombard. Willowbrook Principal Dr. Daniel Krause, Willowbrook Assistant Principal for Athletics and Operations Ed Sullivan and Willowbrook Athletic Hall of Fame President Helen Connell greeted the crowd. Emcees for the evening were Bob Daly (Willowbrook learning services teacher and former Athletic Director and Assistant Principal) and Jim White (District 88 Transition Program Teacher Aide, retired Willowbrook English teacher and Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Class of 2022). Willowbrook social studies teacher and soccer coach Peter Montgomery gave the Address to the Class of 2025.

Class of 2025 inductees are:

  • Jan Kiefer: Outstanding Contributor – Athletic Department Administrative Assistant (1993-2019); Creator of the Lauren Kiefer Memorial Foundation, Inc.

  • 1986 Badminton Team: State Tournament Runner-Up

  • 2018 Special Olympics Volleyball Team: State Champions

  • Jim Bronson: Class of 1976 – Football, Basketball, Baseball

  • Kevin Corry: Athletic Director (1974-1981)

  • Jack Jessen: Class of 2018 – Football, Wrestling

  • Steve Kosanovich: Class of 1985 – Football, Basketball, Baseball

Inductees also were recognized on Sept. 26 during the Homecoming Pep Assembly, Homecoming Parade, pre-game dinner and before the Homecoming Varsity Football Game (versus Hinsdale South).
