Willowbrook names new Softball Team Head Coach

Willowbrook is excited to announce Natalie Gamino as the new Head Coach of the school’s Softball Team. Gamino brings a wealth of experience and a passion for the sport that promises to elevate the Warriors' program.

A passion for softball
Gamino is a motivated coaching professional, with experience at the collegiate level. Her enthusiasm for the sport of softball has driven her to pursue a coaching career at a high level. She earned her master’s degree in Sports Leadership from Concordia University Chicago, where she also served as a graduate assistant from 2015 to 2017. Through that position, she developed daily practice plans and conducted study sessions to ensure academic stability for players. Gamino also earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a Criminal Justice focus and a minor in Psychology from Hope College, where she played collegiate softball.

Gamino has served as the Head Softball Coach at Hinsdale South since 2023. Her duties there included coaching and training players during practices and competitions, organizing daily practice schedules and collaborating with the Athletic Department staff. She also developed and promoted summer camps for the surrounding community.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to join the Willowbrook family,” Gamino said. “I've always admired the strong sense of community and dedication here. I am eager to get to work with our talented student-athletes and help them reach their full potential, both as players and as people.”

Gamino also lives in Villa Park with her wife and two daughters.

A new chapter for Willowbrook softball
Gamino’s arrival marks a new and exciting chapter for the Willowbrook Softball Team. The school administration and Athletic Department are confident her leadership will result in continued success and growth for the program.

“We are thrilled to have Gamino lead our softball program," said Ed Sullivan, Willowbrook Assistant Principal for Athletics and Operations. "Her passion, expertise and dedication to player development stood out to us. We believe she is the right person to build on our program’s history and lead us into a successful future.”
