Willowbrook names new Girls Bowling Team Head Coach

Willowbrook is excited to announce Katie Pettinger as the new Head Coach of the school’s Girls Bowling Team.

Pettinger is an alumna of Willowbrook (class of 2019) and served as a volunteer for the team last season. She brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the Warrior bowling tradition.

Pettinger was a decorated student-athlete at Willowbrook. She earned West Suburban Conference (WSC) Gold Division All-Conference status multiple times, was a member of two Regional and two Sectional Championship teams and qualified twice to compete in the Illinois High School Association (ISHA) Girls Bowling State Tournament. She also earned WSC All-Academic honors and was a three-sport varsity letter winner in bowling, golf and softball.

Pettinger continued her bowling career at Elmhurst University and earned Second Team All-CCIW (College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) honors in 2021. She is now an elementary school teacher in District 45.

“We are thrilled to welcome Pettinger back home to Willowbrook,” said Ed Sullivan, Willowbrook Assistant Principal for Athletics and Operations. “Her remarkable track record as a student-athlete, her commitment as a volunteer and her passion for the sport are evident. We are confident she will inspire our student-athletes to continued success.”
