Willowbrook hosts State send-off celebration for three members of Boys Track & Field Team

On May 29, Willowbrook hosted a State send-off celebration for three members of the Boys Track & Field Team, who competed in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Boys Track & Field State Meet. That event took place from May 29 to 31 at Eastern Illinois University.

The State qualifiers are:

• John Koterba, class of 2025 (shot put)
  
  
• Otis (OJ) Powell, class of 2026 (high jump) – He qualified after setting a new outdoor school record of 6'10" (his personal best) and earning the title of Sectional Champion.

• Jaden Royal, class of 2025 (triple jump) – He qualified after earning 2^nd place during the Sectional competition with a jump of 44'11.25." During the earlier West Suburban Conference Gold Division Championships, he set a new school and conference record with a jump of 46'1.25."
