Willowbrook Science Olympiad Team performs well at Regional competition

On March 8, Willowbrook’s Science Olympiad Team competed in the Regional competition at College of DuPage.

Students competed in 23 events, and 13 high schools had teams at the varsity level. 

The Willowbrook students below have qualified to compete in the Illinois Individual State Tournament (IIST) for Science Olympiad, which will take place on April 26 at McHenry County College.

  • Anatomy & Physiology: Senior Isra Khattak and junior Salman Siddiqi (5th place)

  • Astronomy: Sophomore Claire Brennan and senior Tyler Zabilka (5th place)

  • Electric Vehicle: Sophomores Claire Brennan and Hendrix Solis (3rd place)

  • Entomology: Sophomore Hendrix Solis and senior Caius Polivka (5th place)

  • Forensics: Sophomore Shayan Siddiqi and senior Bilal Arif (5th place)

At the junior varsity level, junior Mark Rainey and senior Manuel Magallanes earned 2nd place in Wind Power.
