Community service is a cornerstone of pride at District 88, and members of the Willowbrook Tri-M (Modern Music Masters) Honor Society recently demonstrated that commitment to giving back and helping others.
On Feb. 7, 32 group members took a break from their usual rehearsals and performances to serve their community in a different way. They volunteered at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg, a nonprofit organization that “believes hope starts with food” and is “dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit.” The Willowbrook students helped pack 25,704 meals (119 boxes), which will feed 70 children who are facing food insecurity a daily meal for a year.
Tri-M is known for fostering leadership and service, and this project was a perfect example of the honor society’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond the stage.
