On Dec. 7, Willowbrook students participated in the Villa Park Chamber of Commerce’s Joyful Traditions holiday event, which takes place annually to provide holiday spirit for community members.
Willowbrook choir students sang classic carols as they strolled throughout the area, and the group even added an electronic keyboard this year.
Willowbrook’s Ritmo Latino dance group made its debut appearance at Joyful Traditions and danced to festive songs such as Navidad Sin Ti, Feliz Navidad, Macarena Christmas and Payaso de Rodeo. Members also performed to a mix that was created by a Willowbrook graduate, which represented a variety of Latin dance styles such as merengue, salsa, bachata, cumbia, banda and punta.
The evening also featured a petting zoo and pony rides; photos with Santa, The Grinch and Mickey Mouse; a trolley ride guided by a character elf; food vendors; a s’more station; a holiday crafts booth and more. For more information about the event, go to https://villaparkchamber.org.
