On Oct. 18, Willowbrook hosted a State send-off celebration for the Girls Flag Football Team.
The Warriors competed in the inaugural Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Girls Flag Football State Championship, which will take place on Oct. 18 and 19 at Willowbrook.

The girls qualified after winning their inaugural IHSA Regional and Sectional competitions (both victories are the first in school history). The student-athletes who competed are junior Alex Suggs, sophomore Ally Rovansek, senior Analise Beres, sophomore Carson Rieger, senior Daisy Trujillo, senior Ella Stimac, senior Isabella Giannotti, sophomore Jada Langston, senior Janaeda Abreu, sophomore Janell Adams, junior Jazilah Gatlin, senior Kendall Medinger, senior Kristin Woods, junior Leigh Bernardo, sophomore Lillian Macias, sophomore Liz Pettinger, senior Loralai McIntyre, junior Marli Smrz, sophomore McKenzie Edison, senior Meri Sutton, sophomore Mia Grochowski, senior Ayaani Gusman, senior Naomi Campbell, freshman Olivia Oskiewicz and senior Sarah Holandi. Coaches are Rachel Karos (head coach), Nick Hildreth, Terrence Miller, D’Amonte Ellis, Rimon Kari and Bianca Neff.
Although the Warriors lost to Whitney M. Young Magnet High School (8-13), the team had a tremendous and historic season!
Willowbrook invites all students, parents/guardians, alumni, staff, community members and friends to attend the state tournament.
