Addison Boys Golf Team wins first regional competition since 1985

On Oct. 8, the Addison Trail Boys Golf Team won its first regional competition since 1985.

The team competed in the Conant Regional at Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club and shot 321. Addison Trail junior Zack Vaca and senior Matt Piotrowski tied for 3rd place, and junior Dan Hartnett finished in 10th place. With that win, the team has advanced to the sectional competition, which will begin at 9 a.m. Oct. 14 at Springbrook Golf Course in Naperville.

“This season has been full of ups and downs,” said Tom Hubner, Head Coach of the Addison Trail Boys Golf Team. “We are finally playing up to our potential. We have a great group of athletes, and they deserved to win and break a 28-year drought.”
