Willowbrook students participate in Chicago field trip to enhance knowledge of French culture

On Feb. 8, Willowbrook students in world language teacher Isabel Juvan’s French 1 class visited the Art Institute of Chicago.

During the field trip, the group participated in an interactive “Art across Cultures” guided tour (pictured above). According to https://www.artic.edu/visit/whos-visiting/k-12-student-groups, this opportunity allows students to “explore objects from across the museum’s vast collection, discovering how artists transmit and respond to their culture through their work. Students engage with 3 to 4 artworks that reflect various worldviews and perspectives. (The program) support(s) learners to consider their own sense of self and place in the world.”

They then went to La Boulangerie & Co in Logan Square, a traditional French bakery and café.
