Willowbrook Catering students showcase creativity and culinary skills during milkshake competition

On April 14, students in Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher Amy Nowak’s Culinary Arts 3 - Catering class participated in a Milkshake Competition (Gourmet Milkshake Lab).

For the contest, students were required to:

• Create a visually appealing gourmet milkshake, with a unique flavor profile
  
  
• Create a “topper” taller than the cup, with 3D items
  
  
• Create a unique rim dipped/rolled in something that correlates to the shake
  
  
• Create an advertisement flyer to promote the item

Six staff members served as judges, and they evaluated the 10 milkshakes based on taste, creativity and appearance. Junior Elisa Ayala was named as the winner, with her Earl Grey Lavender Orange milkshake.
