The Willowbrook Flag Football Team is continuing its historic season and has gathered local and national media attention.
The team was recently featured on GN Sports for its success, including Willowbrook senior Sarah Ball being named as the NFL FLAG Player of the Week (https://dupage88.net/site/page/15102).

“There have already been schools around here whose coaches said they want to start up a team next year,” Ball said in the GN Sports segment. “Young girls are at the games and said they want to play. To know we are inspiring girls is amazing.”
The inaugural Willowbrook team consists of 37 girls, who finished the regular season unbeaten and outscored their opponents 166-0. The girls also won the Conference Championship on Oct. 21 and will now compete in the State Championship on Oct. 29 at Halas Hall in Lake Forest (the practice facility for the Bears).
As the segment said, “These players are pioneers of flag football at Willowbrook, and their team mantra is, ‘Be one of the first, but not the last.’ They are laying the foundation for what they hope is a bright future for the sport at the school and entire state.”
