Warrior Wellness: Willowbrook physical education and health departments look forward to a great school year

Willowbrook students are working hard every day to become more educated with their health and wellness, and we are thrilled to feature those accomplishments through this monthly column.

In this edition of Warrior Wellness, we are excited to welcome everyone back to an in-person school year! We are ecstatic to be back with students in person and getting them up and moving.

This year, we will deliver a comprehensive program that will give students the opportunity to push themselves, while continuing to focus on fitness, health, wellness and mindfulness.

Given the current COVID-19 mitigations, we plan to be outside as much as possible. It’s warm out now, but we know the weather will change as the semester progresses. We highly recommend students bring a water bottle to class and keep an extra sweatshirt in their locker to stay comfortable.

This past week, we completed our pretest battery of fitness assessments. Our students did a great job, and their cooperation and efforts were appreciated by staff.

We look forward to working with our students and families this school year, and we are excited to introduce some new activities that can be implemented while still maintaining social distancing. Thank you, and have a great school year!
