Adal Sanabria

Sanabria has committed to wrestle for North Central College, where he will compete at the 197-pound weight class for the Men’s Wrestling Team.

Sanabria celebrated with teammates, friends, administrators, staff members and family members. Sanabria is a three-year member of the Addison Trail Varsity Wrestling Team and said highlights of his high school career include:

  • Placing in the top five at each tournament in which he competed his senior year
  • Being named to the All-Conference team in the West Suburban Conference Gold Division two times
  • Qualifying for Sectionals his senior year
  • Being named as one of three team captains
  • During his junior year, Sanabria went into triple overtime against the 195-pound wrestler from Leyden, and he clinched the win by one escape point

Sanabria has been wrestling for six years and said the challenging nature of the sport is what makes him want to continue at the collegiate level.

“What I enjoy about wrestling is the fact it’s an individual sport,” Sanabria said. “Even though the main goal is for the team to win, it’s all up to me when it comes to my match. In addition, I also enjoy the tough matches I get at times. Those are the matches that make me feel accomplished when I win, and they also are the matches I learn from.”

Sanabria plans to pursue a degree in electrical engineering or exercise science at North Central College. He also looks to minor in coaching.

Connor Palesch

Palesch has committed to play basketball at Aurora University, where he will be a point guard and a shooting guard for the Men’s Basketball Team.

Palesch celebrated with teammates, friends, administrators, staff members and family members. Palesch is a two-year member of the Addison Trail Varsity Boys Basketball Team and said highlights of his high school career include:

  • His game-winning shot against Hinsdale South
  • Going to Centralia
  • Starting on Senior Night
  • A quote he learned from Addison Trail coach and teacher Christopher Grice: “Anybody can be a ballplayer, but it takes a man to be a teammate.”

Palesch has been playing basketball since he was 4 years old and said the camaraderie of the sport is what makes him want to continue at the collegiate level.

“I love the way I can express myself through a basketball and a hoop,” he said. “I enjoy the respect you get from being a good sports player in general and the rush of all the people watching you.”

Palesch plans to pursue a degree in communications at Aurora University.
