From March 26 to 30, members of the Addison Trail Softball Team traveled to Springfield and the St. Louis area.

During their visit, they played against Lanphier High School and won. The student-athletes from both teams came together after the game and shared a meal as well. The Addison Trail group also was able to practice at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and visit several tourist sites, including the Gateway Arch and the City Museum in St. Louis; the Lincoln Tomb in Springfield; and the “World’s Tallest Man Statue” made in memory of Robert Pershing Wadlow, the tallest person in recorded history, which is in Wadlow’s hometown of Alton. The student-athletes also participated in several team competitions such as bowling and laser tag.

“Although the weather wasn’t the greatest, the team used the experience to bond and create a positive team chemistry,” said Mark Olson, Addison Trail social studies teacher and Head Coach of the Softball Team. “Blazer Nation should be extremely proud of how the girls represented the school and the community.”
