Addison Trail students participate in Manufacturing Day

On Oct. 6, 41 Addison Trail students who are enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) Industry and Technology courses at the school took a field trip to JD Norman Industries, Inc. and Pioneer Service Inc. in Addison as part of Manufacturing Day.

During their visits, students toured the plants, learned about various careers available in manufacturing and had an opportunity to ask questions about the field. JD Norman is a diversified manufacturer of metal components and systems, with operations in the U.S., Mexico, Canada and the United Kingdom. JD Norman is a leader in the manufacturing of highly engineered product, including formed, machined and cast metals. Pioneer Service Inc. is a screw machine shop, providing precision CNC Swiss screw machine parts, CNC turned parts and centerless grinding services. The month includes Manufacturing Day, celebrated nationwide on the first Friday of October, which recognizes the impact modern manufacturing has had on our country. October is a time to highlight the benefits of working in the industry and continue to build a talent pipeline that guarantees Illinois remains a leader in manufacturing for years to come.”
