District 88 students to participate in UTI Automotive Top Tech Challenge

On Feb. 16, four Addison Trail and four Willowbrook students will compete in Universal Technical Institute’s (UTI) Automotive Top Tech Challenge. Participants will compete in hands-on and written automotive testing on vehicle parts, brakes, diagnostics and electrical systems. The teams that finish in the top three will receive prizes that include tools and scholarship money to UTI of up to $10,000 for each student.

The Addison Trail students are senior Roberto Colon, senior Jose Chavez, junior Ryan Selvaggio and senior Anthony DiSilvestro. The Willowbrook students are junior Matthew Seymore, senior Bryce Johnson, junior Sean Olson and senior Lucas Olson.

Colon also recently finished in the first-place category in the UTI Penske American Dream Scholarship competition, which consists of a 100-question written automotive technology exam. Colon received scholarship money to UTI for his achievement.
