Addison Trail students read their children’s books to Stone Elementary School classes

On Oct. 12, six students in Addison Trail English teacher Katie Inzinga’s creative writing class shared the children’s books they wrote and illustrated with younger students.

Members of the Addison Trail group read to five classes ranging in age from kindergarten to third grade at Stone Elementary School. Their stories shared lessons such as how to make new friends, dealing with moving and attending a new school and how to love and accept yourself. The elementary school students then had an opportunity to ask questions of the Addison Trail guests.

The authors/illustrators who participated in the field trip are:

  • Junior Gina Tomasello: Author/illustrator of “The New School”
  • Senior Marie Baumgartner: Author/illustrator of “The Blue Cape”
  • Senior Penelope Reyes: Author/illustrator of “The Legend of Animatum”
