When thinking of a school building, the image of an “art gallery” might not be the first thing that comes to mind.
But that’s exactly what visitors will find when they come to Addison Trail. The school is home to Addison Center for the Arts, a not-for-profit 501c3 organization that frequently hosts art events, programs and exhibits. Through Nov. 7, viewers can enjoy artwork by DuPage County artist Laura Lein-Svencner in an exhibition entitled “Collage Composed.”
Lein-Svencner is an Abstract Mixed Media Collage Artist and teaches collage with the heat seal iron method of fusing coated collage papers to various surfaces. Her work is a combination of symbolism, form, content and meaning – inspired by daily events.
Addison Center for the Arts is open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and private tours are available by appointment. The gallery is at 213 N. Lombard Road in Addison (enter through door No. 4). For more information about Lein-Svencner, go to www.lauralein-svencner.com.
