Addison Trail partners with Village of Addison to host community event

On Jan. 29, nearly 50 community members, church leaders and parents from Addison Trail’s Los Padres en Acción group came together to discuss ways to continue to improve the Village of Addison.

They met at Addison Trail to enjoy a dinner donated by local restaurants and to discuss the challenges and strengths of the community. Addison Mayor Rich Veenstra greeted the crowd and said the goal of the evening was for the participants to discover how much they have in common and how that is what will help Addison move forward and be successful as a village.

District 88 Superintendent Dr. Scott Helton and Addison Trail Principal Adam Cibulka guided the conversation by asking questions to gather feedback from the audience. Illinois Lieutenant Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti also spoke with those who attended the event and addressed the crowd.

“At District 88, our mission is to work for the continuous improvement of student achievement,” Helton said. “It is through collaborating with our stakeholders at events like this that we will accomplish that mission.”
