Addison Trail alumnus named winner of NBC’s ‘The Biggest Loser’

Addison Trail is proud to announce alumnus Toma Dobrosavljevic (class of 1999) is this season’s winner of "The Biggest Loser," NBC’s competitive weight-loss TV show.

Dobrosavljevic was announced as the winner during the show’s season finale on Jan. 29. When the season premiered on Sept. 11, Dobrosavljevic weighed 336 pounds. According to Us Weekly, he has dropped 171 pounds and now weighs 165 pounds.

The theme of this season was “The Biggest Loser: Glory Days,” and Dobrosavljevic played football, volleyball, baseball, tennis, basketball and soccer in high school, according to his biography on “The Biggest Loser” website (http://tinyurl.com/k69yhe7). Dobrosavljevic’s life changed dramatically nine years ago, when his father died prematurely at age 54. Dobrosavljevic moved home to care for his mother, and he began to gain weight while trying to help his family deal with the devastating loss. He promised his father he would lose weight, and he has achieved that goal.

As the winner, Dobrosavljevic was awarded $250,000.

"I feel incredible," Dobrosavljevic said in the Us Weekly article. "It’s so mind-boggling and overwhelming. I look in the mirror and I still have a hard time recognizing myself. Knowing that I’ve lost, in the last year, over 200 pounds, it’s just amazing … to get to where I’m at, I’ve lost an entire person and a little bit more. It’s unbelievable."
