Addison Trail Interact Club members enjoy camping trip

From June 27 to 29, nine female Addison Trail students went camping at Rock Cut State Park as members of the school’s Interact Club.

That club is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Addison and is available to students who want to join together to tackle issues in their community that they care most about. During their trip, the students went hiking, canoeing, learned about local wildlife and participated in team-building exercises.

“For many of the girls, this was their first time camping,” said Esther Delgado, Interact Club co-sponsor. “It was a wonderful opportunity for them to experience the outdoors and learn about nature firsthand.”

The students who participated in the camping trip are Lizeth Chavez, Jessica Garay, Carolina Herrera, Jasmin Lopez, Cynthia Marquez, Elizabeth Martinez, Susana Ochoa, Mayra Sarabia and Abigaeli Vargas. Delgado chaperoned the trip, along with Addison Trail teachers Theresa Grams and Laura Grunschel.
