As we head into spring, there is a lot to celebrate at Addison Trail.
In athletics, we celebrated two West Suburban Gold Conference Championship teams during the winter season. The Girls Gymnastics Team won its first Conference championship since 1997, and the Wrestling Team won its second consecutive Conference championship. Along with the team accolades, five individual athletes will represent Addison Trail in their respective sport’s Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State competition.
We also have had tremendous success in our extracurricular activities. From the amazing performance of our winter musical, “Once on This Island,” to the 17 business education students who will participate in the State competition for DECA and the eight industry and technology students who will compete in the State SkillsUSA competition, our students are being recognized at the highest levels.
In our music program, two students were recently selected to perform in the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) All-State program. That event showcases the top musicians throughout Illinois, and we are so proud of this amazing accomplishment.
As we look toward spring, we begin to wish our seniors the best of luck as they transition to life after Addison Trail. Members of the class of 2014 have already been accepted to colleges/universities such as Northwestern University, Purdue University, Boston University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and countless others. The recognition from those major colleges and universities demonstrates Addison Trail is continuing to meet its goal of preparing students for college and career.
We eagerly await the final decisions of our senior students, and we will continue to strive to prepare all students for college and career through a personalized approach and a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum.
Go, Blazers!
