District 88 participates in Addison-Medinah Shriners Parade
On Aug. 30, District 88 participated in the Addison-Medinah Shriners Parade.
The theme of this year’s parade was “America@250: Let Freedom Ring!” The Honorary Grand Marshals were members of the Addison Historical Society and Addison Historical Commission, recognizing the museum's 50th anniversary in 2026. Revolutionary War-era reenactors joined them on the float.
The event featured 40 community units, as well as units provided by the Shriners.
District 88 was well-represented, as members of the following Addison Trail groups participated in the event.
- Marching Band
- Color Guard
- Blazer Battalion U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program: Served as the Parade Color Guard
- Orchesis
- Cheerleaders
- Blazettes
- Football
- Boys Soccer Team
- Addison Trail Veterans Support Organization (ATVSO)
District 88 Board of Education Vice President Dan Olson, Board Secretary Christine “Chris” Poirier and Board Member Diana Stout rode/walked in the parade and handed out candy and District 88 chip clips, along with District 88 and Addison Trail administrators.
