Addison Trail students participate in career-exploration field trip to learn about barbering industry

On May 5, eight Addison Trail students participated in a field trip to explore careers in the barbering industry.

Students visited Sheridan’s Barber Academy in Wheaton and Wahl Barber Academy in Chicago, where they stepped into real training environments, learned about techniques and tools of the trade and heard directly from professionals about their journeys. A few students (with parental consent) even received haircuts – adding a hands-on element to the experience.

District 88 is committed to providing multiple and flexible pathways for students to ensure they are college and career ready and continues to partner with colleges/universities and local businesses to expand these opportunities.
