On May 8, Addison Trail Library Media Center Director Patrick Glazik was honored as a Distinguished Service Celebration (DSC) recipient by the Illinois Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (INSPRA).
That program recognizes individuals and groups throughout the state who partner with their school communications office to serve as ambassadors for public education and champions of students and staff. For more information, go to https://www.inspra.org/dsc.
Since joining Addison Trail in August 2024, Glazik has transformed the Library Media Center into a dynamic, welcoming hub that fosters creativity, collaboration and engagement. Through implementing innovative programming such as contests, a book club and interactive activities, Glazik has created an environment where learning is both meaningful and enjoyable, making the library a destination within the school.
Glazik also has demonstrated strong leadership in professional development, particularly in guiding staff on the use of artificial intelligence in education. His approachable style, passion and expertise have empowered teachers to adopt new strategies. This has allowed the Library Media Center to serve as a true extension of the classroom, providing targeted support and resources that enhance student learning across disciplines.
A highlight of Glazik's impact is the creation of Addison Trail’s inaugural Academic Fest, which featured more than 100 students presenting a variety of projects that showcased the very best of student learning and creativity and attracted more than 600 attendees. The event celebrated student achievement, while fostering community pride and connection.
