On March 20, Addison Trail’s Blazer Battalion U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program hosted the school’s inaugural Military Ball to honor and recognize the program and the students (referred to as cadets) who are enrolled in the course.
During the evening, Addison Trail JROTC instructor MSG William E. Jones and Battalion Commander C/LTC Sophia Barragan (a senior at Addison Trail) welcomed those in attendance after they entered through a reception line; Village of Addison Mayor and military veteran Tom Hundley served as the guest speaker and congratulated the cadets on their dedication to leadership, community service and civic responsibility; and several cadets made celebratory toasts with sparkling cider.
About 127 people attended the event, and there also was a table for “the fallen soldiers.”
A variety of awards were presented, and members of the Military Ball Court were named. They are:
