On March 5, District 88 Director of Student Career Development Iridia Nevarez and Addison Trail Counselor Mario Fernandez (pictured above) met with Addison Trail students who are enrolled in the Medical Careers and the Human Body Systems PLTW courses to introduce them to the field of medical forensics.
During the presentation, Nevarez and Fernandez shared insights about careers that combine science, investigation and public service.
They also encouraged students to participate in a career-exploration field trip to visit the DuPage County Coroner’s Office, which will take place on April 9. That event is part of District 88’s continued efforts to increase career pathways, giving students meaningful opportunities to explore real-world professions and connect classroom learning to future careers.
The district is committed to providing multiple and flexible pathways for students to ensure they are college and career ready and continues to partner with colleges/universities and local businesses to expand these experiences.
