On Feb. 26, Addison Trail Career and Technical Education (CTE) teacher Bridget Colleran was named as one of the regional CTE Instructors of the Year for Family and Consumer Sciences during a recognition event at Technology Center of DuPage (TCD).

Colleran was selected by District 88, in partnership with College of DuPage (COD) and DuPage Area Occupational Education System (DAOES). According to DAOES, “This event honors educators who exemplify excellence through innovative teaching strategies and a steadfast commitment to CTE advocacy.”

“Colleran has worked very hard to strengthen our culinary pathway,” said Jennifer Kowalski, Addison Trail CTE Department Head. “She also has played an important role in helping to open our Blazer Café, which provides students with real-world learning experiences. Colleran always goes above and beyond what is asked of her, and she also has done a great job revamping our upper-level culinary classes. Colleran also teaches our fashion classes and led the work on getting those to be dual-credit courses. She has accomplished all of this while carrying an overload schedule and working toward her doctoral degree. Colleran’s commitment to student success and program growth truly represents what CTE is all about, and she absolutely deserves this recognition!”
