District 88 is pleased to share the Addison Township Mental Health Board recently named the district as a 2026 grant recipient.
The district completed a funding application and was approved for $165,000. The grant funds will be used for mental health and social-emotional support initiatives at Addison Trail.
The following is part of the narrative that was submitted: “At Addison Trail, the safety, health and well-being of students and staff is our No. 1 priority. We know building relationships precedes learning, and we continue to focus on connecting with all students. For students to achieve academically, we must first meet their needs outside of the classroom – including providing mental health and social-emotional assistance. Grant funds received from the Addison Township Mental Health Board will support various programs and initiatives at the school – all centered on prevention, intervention and establishing a sense of belonging within students.”
On Jan. 28, District 88 was recognized during the 2026 Addison Township Mental Health Board Grant Award Networking and Appreciation Event at Brewpoint Coffee in Elmhurst (pictured above).
