Addison VFW to host annual flower show with Addison Floral

On March 20, the Addison VFW Post 7446 and the post’s auxiliary will host their annual flower show, offering a night of beauty, entertainment and support for veterans.

The event is open to adult community members and will take place at the VFW, 446 W. Lake St. in Addison. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the show will begin at 7 p.m.

Attendees will be treated to a live floral arrangement demonstration by Addison Floral. A $6 entry donation grants a ticket for a chance to win one of the arrangements, and participants can buy more $6 tickets to increase the odds of winning.

Beyond the floral showcase, the event will feature:

• A raffle with more than 30 baskets. Tickets will be available for $1 each, $5 for six, or $20 for 30.
  
  
• A bonus raffle with larger-prize items. Tickets will be available for $5 each or $20 for six.
  
  
• A special raffle basket to benefit cancer charity. Tickets will be available for $2 each, and proceeds will go toward cancer charity to assist veterans and their families.
  
  
• Light refreshments.

All proceeds from the flower show will directly benefit veterans through organizations such as the Fisher House Foundation, VFW National Home and the Veterans’ Home at Manteno. In past years, funds raised have helped train canines for veterans, host baby showers for wives of active soldiers, distribute backpacks to homeless veterans and more.
