On Oct. 28, District 88 participated in a workforce development networking event with the new Addison Business Exchange (ABE). The gathering took place at Addison Village Hall to recognize Manufacturing Month (https://ima-net.org/education-foundation/manufacturing-month).
During the event, District 88 Assistant Superintendent for College and Career Readiness Yvonne Tsagalis and Director of Student Career Development Iridia Nevarez presented, along with Tom Hundley (Village of Addison Mayor), Michelle Sieler (ABE President), Dagmar Porcelli (Executive Director of Resilient, UPSTART program) and Tom Peters (Director of Workforce Development with Symbol Training Institute).
The speakers shared information about District 88’s comprehensive curriculum, which includes credentialed career-based curricular tracks, more than 30 Advanced Placement (AP) college-level courses and more than 50 dual-credit and collegiate-credit courses in 18 career pathway areas, along with award-winning fine arts programming. The district is committed to providing multiple and flexible pathways for students to find post-secondary success and continues to expand access to college credits and industry-recognized certifications to help ensure students are college and career ready.
