4-8 semesters - World Language - Typically colleges require 4 semesters for college entry but will require more to meet the colleges foreign language requirement.

Consumer Education

1 semester 

This requirement can be fulfilled by taking Consumer Management, Introduction to Business, Economics (including Dual Credit and AP), and any other courses determined by the administration.

Physical Education

Health Proficiency Requirement  must pass a Health class

 

All students are required to take 8 semesters of Physical Education (including Health) per Illinois School Code. The PE credits will allow students to complete 8 of the 13 elective credits necessary for graduation but specific PE credits are not required for graduation except for Health.  

 

Students may be exempt from PE if they qualify for one of the approved exemptions outlined in the D88 Graduation Requirement Flexibility document.

Performance Requirements

Constitution Test

Additional proposed performance requirements to be implemented in the fall of 2026

Beginning in August of 2026, all District 88 graduates must have a post-secondary commitment and must have completed at least one career-related experience. Each student will create an individual learning plan (ILP) to facilitate this process.
