On April 14, Addison Trail hosted a White Coat Ceremony to celebrate and honor the 20 students listed below for completing the three-course Project Lead The Way (PLTW) sequence.

According to PLTW’s website (www.pltw.org), “We believe all students – beginning at a young age – need access to real-world, applied learning experiences that empower them to gain the skills they need to thrive in college, career and beyond. Through our programs, students develop in-demand, transportable skills – such as problem solving, critical and creative thinking, collaboration and communication – that they will use both in school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take.”
The students who were recognized successfully completed Principles of Biomedical Science, Human Body Systems and Medical Interventions. During those classes, pupils are tasked with thinking critically, diagnosing patients and learning real-world medical practices they would encounter in a biomedical profession. They received a long white medical coat, a graduation stole and a certificate to signify their achievement.
Addison Trail Science Department Head John Fouser and science teachers Laura Garcia, Matt Lindgren, Theresa Marzullo, Dena Zarou and Kristian Coerper discussed the PLTW curriculum and congratulated the recipients on their accomplishment.
