District 88 participates in 18th Annual Shape of Addison Town Hall Meeting

On Jan. 29, District 88 Board of Education President Donna Craft Cain and District 88 Superintendent Dr. Jean Barbanente participated in the 18th Annual Shape of Addison Town Hall Meeting.

The meeting provided an opportunity for community members to dialogue with the taxing bodies in Addison. Board presidents and administrators/representatives from the Village of Addison, the Addison Township, the Addison Public Library, the Addison Park District, the Addison Police Department, the Addison Fire Protection District, Addison School District 4 and District 88 shared updates and answered questions from community members. District 88 discussed the following topics:

  • The district’s updated strategic plan, educational mission and vision statements, and corresponding online dashboard

  • The district’s continued focus on providing a comprehensive curriculum to help ensure students are college and career ready and have access to a variety of pathways

  • The district’s continued focus on expanding and enhancing work-based learning opportunities for students

  • Successes and highlights of District 88 and Addison Trail

  • The district’s continued commitment to maintain a stable budget to be fair and fiscally responsible

  • The ways in which the district communicates with stakeholders and the many opportunities available to stay connected with the district
