Addison Trail hosts annual International Fest Week
From Dec. 2 to 7, Addison Trail’s International Club hosted the school’s annual International Fest Week, which featured the following events/activities.
- Eleven presenters spoke with students about their travels and experiences from throughout the world. Through the presentations, students were able to learn about a variety of countries, cultures, topics and perspectives. - Pre-recorded videos from other Addison Trail staff members also were available for classes to view.
- A spirit week took place during the event, with each day featuring a different travel-related theme (see the flyer above).
- “Games from around the world” provided students and staff with the opportunity to learn about entertainment in other countries.
- Students and staff (including resource classes, clubs/activities and athletic teams) were invited to participate in a Cultural Ornament Contest, where they had the opportunity to design a unique ornament to represent/celebrate a country and culture. The goal was to show that Addison Trail encompasses many nationalities, but is one Blazer Nation. The ornaments were judged, and the winners are listed below.
- 1st place ($75 gift card): Freshman Aniyah Pryor (American Samoa)
- 2nd place ($50 gift card): Addison Trail teacher aide NEED FIRST NAME Noyola’s resource class (Australia)
- 3rd place ($25 gift card): Addison Trail junior Emily Moy (collage of various flags)
