Addison Trail students recently participated in two career-exploration field trips.
On Oct. 24, about 25 students traveled to the District Council Training Center in Addison. To view a photo gallery from the event, click on the image above (or go to https://www.dupage88.net/site/page/16511).
According to www.bac2school.org, “The IUBAC District Council Training Center’s mission is to supply our Signatory Contractors with the finest trained craftworkers in the Brick, Marble, Plaster, Pointing Cleaning and Caulking, Tile and Terrazzo trades. Through our affiliation with the Bricklayers International Union (Founded 1865) and the International Masonry institute (Founded 1971), our goal is to improve our members’ quality of life, on and off the job, through access to quality training that results in safe working conditions and solidarity among members.” During their visit, students participated in hands-on experiences and learned about the center’s apprenticeship programs, where individuals who are 18 years old and older can get paid while they receive on-the-job training.
