Addison Trail celebrates and honors state-bound members of the Varsity Girls Bowling Team, Girls Gymnastics Team and Girls Wrestling Team

On Feb. 16, Addison Trail hosted two State send-off celebrations.

• The Varsity Girls Bowling Team will compete in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Tournament for the first time since 2005. That event takes place on Feb. 17 and 18 at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford. The team members are (pictured above, from left to right) senior Hannah Melone, senior Kylie Fiermuga, sophomore Valentina Pizzoferrato, sophomore Grace Cannizzo, sophomore Angelina Ayala and sophomore Amelia Leslie.

• Senior Maddie Muccianti (pictured above) will compete in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Girls Gymnastics State Meet. That event takes place on Feb. 17 and 18 at Palatine High School, and Muccianti will compete on floor.

The student-athletes also were greeted and honored by their peers and Addison Trail staff members during a parade, as they marched through the hallways of the school behind the Addison Trail Drum Line.

Also joining the parade were junior Veronica Cosio and sophomore Nina Matthews, who will compete in the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Girls Wrestling State Tournament in the 105-pound and 110-pound divisions, respectively. That event will take place on Feb. 24 and 25 at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington. Cosio and Matthews will be recognized during a State send-off celebration at a later date.
